The most traditional scenic part of the city is Geneva’s Old Town, clustered on a hill around the “Cathédrale Saint-Pierre”.
Geneva’s Old Town, in French called “La Vieille Ville”, is an ancient maze of small streets and picturesque squares, filled with homey cafes, restaurants, galleries, museums and historical sights, lined by historical buildings adorned with beautiful masonry facades. The must of this festival are the traditional fireworks, 45 minutes of breathtaking show, taking place in the heart of the harbour on Saturday, 10th August at 10pm.
BOL D’OR 14th – 16th JUNE
The Bol d’Or Mirabaud is the most important inland lake regatta in the world. Started in 1939, it welcomes mono-hulls and multihulls each year on Lake Geneva. More than 500 boats encounter each other on this 123 kilometer (66.5 nautical miles) course from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back. Aside the lake regatta a dynamic program on land is scheduled.
The opening ceremony will launch the festivities on Friday 14th June in the evening, with the Léman steamer Neptune once again tied up at the honor dock. The festivity program includes two live concerts, a 70s-80s sound evening and some folk musique.
MUSIC IN SUMMER 5th July – 22nd August 2019
The «Musiques en été» is the central festival of Geneva’s summer! It mixes heritage and musical trends through a generous and eclectic programme. Jazz, hip-hop, chamber opera, soul, classical recital, swing, reggae: more than 30 concerts, taking place on the Ella Fitzgerald Stage, at La Grange Park and at the Alhambra, since the Town Hall Courtyard is under construction.

A one-of-a-kind celebration, the Fête des Vignerons is held once a generation (4 times by century) in the Swiss town of Vevey, located at the heart of the viticultural region of Lavaux. Organized by the Confrérie des Vignerons since 1797, it celebrates the whole region’s traditions with a show as modern as it is impressive.
The Fête des Vignerons, recognized by UNESCO on its list of intangible cultural heritage, pays homage to viticultural witness to the memory and identity of the the vineyard workers, their know-how and the vineyards of Lavaux (UNESCO heritage) and the Chablais vaudois regions. From 18th July to 11th August 2019, the city vibrates, from 9am to midnight, around the multitude of free activities proposed for adults and kids. Costumed
street parades, treasury hunts, musical and cultural animations, organized around of a dozen stage areas, will entertain the visitors. The area ranging from the Jardin Doret to the Entre-deux-Villes will be completely pedestrian for the duration of the festival and dedicated to conviviality, cultural and festive activities.
The Arena, especially created for the event in Vevey, will welcome every day up to 20,000 spectators to discover the show created by the artistic team of Daniele Finzi Pasca, the man behind Cirque du Soleil and the Turin and Sochi Olympic Games closing ceremonies. The choreographies of the scenes are performed by 5,500 actors and actresses in costumes, all inhabitants of the region. A total, magical, grandiose, dynamic and poetic performance conceived at 360°, which mixes with the music, the songs, that carry the poems of the authors, and the images and videos projected on giant screens as well as on the immense LED floor of the arena.
